ACE Becomes NJTL Chapter!!!

ACE has officially become a USTA NJTL chapter. That’s a United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) chapter. What does this mean? Well, it’s a crucial step for any tennis and learning non-profit, and it comes with tons of resources, networking opportunities, grant possibilities, and professional development support.. The USTA Foundation, the charitable arm of the USTA, supports all NJTLs and aims to bring tennis and education together to change lives.

In just a few weeks of being part of this network, ACE has already been invited to apply for a very sizable grant and been offered Executive Director training, which is an urgent need. We’ve also met other tennis non-profit leaders from around the country who are all trying to share the game and promote holistic youth development as we do it.

Becoming an NJTL chapter is great news for ACE, but it’s even better news for the kids who’ll reap the benefits of the USTA’s support.

One of the opportunities that comes with NJTL chapterhood is the support to organize Junior Team Tennis events in our area. Junior Team Tennis is an awesome way for kids to play matches, meet other players and compete on a team. This is something I think would make our tennis program much more exciting. I can see kids of all ages coming together at the courts, dividing into teams, and playing singles and doubles together. The experience of playing on a team would energize our whole community and hopefully inspire kids to play more, build their tennis skills, and stick with tennis for years to come. Ultimately, this is the big goal of the USTA - to get more people playing tennis and stay playing.
