Summer 2024 Exceeds Expectations

Students and staff at Foss Park celebrate like we always do, with popsicles on Friday!

We had hoped to have 300 kids join the ACE program. We had 358.

We hoped that 175 could receive scholarships. 224 kids went for free.

We ran for 9 weeks in Somerville, expanded our schedule to operate for 6 weeks in Medford, and began our Cambridge program with a 2 week pilot program.

Somerville emerged victorious in our team tennis events.

We also had two youth play days in which over 30 kids competed in team tennis matches, representing their cities. Somerville came out on top in those competitions, but Medford and Cambridge represented themselves very well too.

Our writing instructors had kids writing stories about the Mystic River, their favorite super hero, what their magical pets would be like, what they would do if they could time travel, what they love most about tennis and many other topics. Students also wrote plays, played word games, played charades, did some street art and organized checkers matches.

Overall, we had an amazing summer. Thank you to everyone who participated! We saw so many great things take place on the courts and in the writing stations.

And thank you to all those who supported us with donations and by playing in our events. Our efforts are paying off and we are excited for more exciting programs in the future!!!
